The intellect and genius of Oscar Wilde oozes from the pages. The repartee between characters is witty, stimulating, insightful. There is a real atmosphere of the Victorian socialite scene rising from the page – the gossip, the prejudice, the opulence, the privilege.
The story itself is dark and so very clever. And I love a short novel. Really glad I went back to this one.
